KZN Senior Monthly at Umhlali 23 Oct

Considering the amount of rain we have had recently, Umhlali Country Club was in great condition and not as wet as one would have expected. The course is obviously well drained and the odd ponding of rain water in some of the lower areas was the exception rather than the rule. The gusty, south westerly wind, did however have some effect to scores on the day.

There were some good scores returned by the winners in the three divisions with Rajen Sewgolum firing a two-over par round of 73 gross to take first place in the A Division. Taking second spot only one stroke behind was Kevin Ullett with 74 gross. Playing steady golf, Noel Parsonage took the Best Nett prize in the A Division with a gross score of 78 less 6 h’cap = 72 nett. Runner-up was Craig Allan with 78 gross less 4 h’cap = 74 nett.

Taking first place in the B Division was Kenny Knock who played to his handicap and scored 36 individual stableford points. Second was Dave Fisher with 32 points and third was Mike Atkinson with 31 points.

An outstanding round by Mike Sekobane saw him take first place in the C Division with a remarkable score of 46 individual stableford points. Runner-up was Nkosinathi Langa also with a good score of 37 points.

Our next game is scheduled to be played at Selborne CC on Tuesday 12th November.

Many thanks to our sponsors for their continued support.
