KZN Senior Results from Umdoni Park GC, 5/12/2024

It was an absolutely glorious day at Umdoni Park GC on Thursday 5th December where the course, especially the greens, were in excellent condition. However, there was a weather warning that the north-easter was going to veer to the south later on in the afternoon, bringing stormy weather with it. Luckily almost all of the players, with exception of the later starters, managed to get their round completed before the stormy deluge, thunder and lightning, made landfall.

Good scores were expected on the day given the great condition of the course with Mike Matthews (pictured) and Guy O’Connor both shooting one-under par gross 71 in the A Division. Mike Matthews was awarded first place on a count-out basis with Guy taking second place. There was a count-out for the best nett prize in the A Division as well with Dean Stopforth taking the best nett first place prize with a score of 74 gross less 6 handicap = nett 68. Counted into second place was Mornay Pretorius also with 74 gross less 6 handicap = nett 68.

In the B Division, first place went to Omprakesh Ramlakhan with a score of 39 individual stableford points. Second place (on a count-out) was David Fisher with 37 points and third was Leigh Branders also with 37 points.

Pat Moodley played good golf to take the C Division honors with a score of 42 individual stableford points. Second placed was Nkosinathi Langa with 39 points who counted-out Logan Puckree also with 39 points, who unfortunately does not get a prize as only two places were paid out.
