KZN Senior Results : Kloof Country Club 20/1/2025

It was really great to see a full turnout (104 players) for the first game of 2025 at Kloof Country Club on Monday 20th January. At the outset, good scoring was anticipated as the weather was slightly cooler, the rain stayed away, the course was in good condition although the rough was to be avoided, and the greens rolling very nicely indeed. As it turned out, scores were generally good with some really exceptional scores being returned in the B Division.

In the A Division it was local Kloof member, Guy O’Connor who took the first place honors with a solid round of three under par gross 67. Pictured is Guy being congratulated by Richard Nel who also took second place with a score of one over par 71, counting out Steve Young also on 71.

The Best Nett prize in the A Division therefore went to Steve Young with a score of gross 71 less 3 handicap = 68 nett with Gary Welsh taking second spot with gross 72 less 3 handicap = 69 nett.

As mentioned, there was exceptional scoring in the B Division. Again it was a Kloof member, Victor Phungula that took first place having played exceptional golf and returning a score of 46 individual stableford points. Victor is pictured being congratulated by Richard Nel. Second place went to Rakesh Haluman, also with an exceptional score of 44 points who counted out John Patlansky, also with an exceptional 44 points. Fourth place went to Mike Sekobane with 40 individual stableford points. Well played to all of you on your achievements on the day.

The C Division also had good winning scores. First place went to Jayaram Naidoo with 38 individual stableford points, second was Sharky Adams with 37 points who counted out Nkosinathi Langa into third place also with 37 points.
