Featured: Chad Stanton poses with the trophy after winning the KZN Amateur Matchplay tournament at The Lakes, Mount Edgecombe Country Club on Sunday.

The tournament kicked off with a delayed start in very cold and wet conditions on Wednesday, 12th August at Mount Edgecombe CC The Lakes. However conditions improved and the strokeplay tournament continued on the second day at The Woods. It was won by Judd Sundelson 70/65 135 from Houghton Golf Club. Dan Copeman from King David Mowbray and Timothy Daniels, Devonvale Golf Estate, both shot 138 to come in second place.

The top 32 players went through to the Matchplay which was played over 3 days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at The Lakes. Chad Stanton, Eagle Canyon beat Devon Valentine from George GC, 4 & 3 to win the Matchplay event. Full results are available on the KZNGU website under Entries & Results.
