CHANGE IN PLAYING FORMAT TO KZN CLOSED CHAMPIONSHIPS

The KZNGU Executive Committee has decided to change the playing format of the 2023 KZN Closed Championships to be played at Selborne CC on the 1st and 2nd July.

The tournament will now comprise of 54 holes with 18 holes to be played on the Saturday morning and 36 holes to be completed on the Sunday.

The decision was taken to change the tournament rounds from 72 holes to 54 holes after having considered the cost implications to both the clubs hosting the tournament as well as to the players themselves. All clubs hosting this tournament will embrace the change in that it gives them more space and times to accommodate both their members and visitors on a Saturday afternoon. It will also save the players on extra costs of competing in the Championships. This change will also be applicable to the KZN Players Championships in 2024.

The KZN Open Strokeplay and KZN Amateur Championships will remain as 72 hole tournaments.
