Chris Zietsman is presented with the winners trophy by Mr Brian Olsen, President of the KZNGU, at Selborne on Sunday.

The 2024 Mid Amateur Championships went off well with a field of 36 players, 24 of which were local players.

The tournament was played at Selborne Park Golf Club on Sunday 4 August. The course was in pristine condition and was enjoyed by all. The weather report threatened a 35 degree day but it was much later that a ferocious hot wind came up in the last 15 minutes of the tournament, which didn’t affect the players much.

Chris Zietsman, who was playing on his home course, won the championship with a score of 139, with Gavin Sole (below left), Southbroom GC, a close second on 141 and third was Kalvin van Rensburg, Amanzimtoti CC, (below right) on 143.
