A full field entry for the times allocated to us by Kloof Country Club on Sunday 18th January for our first game of 2026. The weather started off cool as it can be at Kloof but it warmed up quickly as the wind got up towards early afternoon. Kloof CC was in good condition with the greens receptive and rolling smoothly and some good golf was played as a result.

Izak Hanekom started off a great round turning at two-under par 33 after nine holes but came a little unstuck by dropping four shots over the 14th, 15th and 16th holes to finish at two-over par 72 which was enough for him to take first place in the A Division. One shot further back on 73 were Kevin Curren, who was awarded second place on a count-out from Ashwin Krishen and Sean Fenger, also with 73 respectively. The best nett prize in the A Division went to Monay Pretorius with a great score of 74 less 7 handicap = 67 nett and runner-up was Dean Stopforth also with 74 less 5 handicap = 69 nett.

In the B Division Paul Smith played to his 13 handicap and returned a score of 36 individual stableford points. Second was Ashwin Ramchand with 35 playing off a 10 handicap and third was Hugo Venter also with 35 points playing off a 10 handicap who counted out Mark Thorpe with 35 playing off a 13 handicap.

A good round played by Michael Sekobane returning 40 individual stableford points playing off a 23 handicap was sufficient for him to take first place in the C Division. Second was Leigh Branders with 34 playing off a 20 handicap who counted-out Rajen Naidoo in the process, also with 34 points playing off a 22 handicap.

Congratulations to all prize winners. Our next game is at Umhlali Country Club on Wednesday 18th February. See you all there.
