KZN Senior Monthly Pr Grant 18 Sept

There was an excellent turnout for the KZN Senior monthly tournament held at Prince’s Grant on Thursday 18th September. Golfers were blessed with superb weather and a course in excellent condition even though most found it difficult to gauge the pace of the greens which tended to be slower than normally experienced at this time of the year. This however, did not prevent some very good scores being posted on the day.

Andy Forde (pictured) didn’t seem to have any problem on the putting surface and played excellent golf to finish with a score of 69 gross to take first place in the A Division, four shots ahead of Kevin Curren who took second place with a score of gross 73. There was a tie for the Best Nett prize in the A Division with Monay Pretorius and Dean Stopforth both returning scores of 75 gross less 5 handicap = nett 70. The Best nett first place was awarded to Monay on a count-out basis.

In the B Division, Kelvin Ganesan also had a great day on the course and played some very good golf to finish with 40 individual stableford points to take first place. Second place went to Bushy Boshoff who played to his handicap and finished with 36 points and third place went to Devan Brijlall with 35 points.

There were good scores in the C Division as well with Joseef de Jesus taking first place with an excellent score of 41 individual stableford points. Second place went to Dean Algar with a steady 36 points on the day.

Our next game is scheduled to be held at Umhlali Country Club on Wednesday 8th October which always proves to be a popular golfing destination so get your entries for this event in to the Union soonest.

Many thanks to our sponsors, the Golfers Club for their continued support. Keep swinging !
