KZN Senior Amateur Results, Selborne 2/12/2025

The final monthly tournament for the year 2025 was played at Selborne on Tuesday 2nd December. A lower than expected turnout on a super day, even though the rain did dampen some spirits towards the late afternoon. The course, and in particular the greens, were in perfect condition, resulting in some good scores being returned on the day.

In the A Division, Kennith Commins (pictured) played excellent golf to finish with a two-under par gross score of 70 playing off a 5 handicap which was enough for him to take first place. Although Himesh Sewsunker finished two shots back with a score of gross 72, Himesh was placed as the Best Nett winner with nett 70 on a count out. Second placed gross therefore went to Sean Fenger with gross 74 counting out Guy O’Connor also on 74 gross in the process. The runner-up Best Nett prize went to Monay Pretorius with a score of 76 gross less 6 handicap = 70 nett. Other scores not far behind were Andy Forde, Rajen Sewgolum and Richard Nel, all with 75 gross.

In the B Division, only two players bettered their handicaps with Mark Thorpe having found his form to take first place with 40 individual stableford points playing off a 13 handicap. Also enjoying a return to form was Brian Olsen, who was runner-up with 37 individual points playing off a 16 handicap.

There were only two places paid out in the C Division as well with the first place going to Rajen Naidoo with a great score of 41 individual stableford points playing off a 23 handicap. Runner-up was Bridg Rambujan with 38 points playing off a 25 handicap. Other good scores in the C Division, but not earning any prizes, were Sharky Adams with 37 points, Mukesh Jeena with 36 points as well as Sam Pillay also with 36 points.

The 2026 Fixture List as well as the Order of Merit to date has been circulated via email to everyone on the mailing list. Our first game in the New Year is scheduled to be played at Kloof Country Club on Sunday 18th January 2026 so put all these fixtures in your diaries soonest.
