It was clearly obvious that a lot of work had been undertaken at Bluff National Park Golf Club following all the rain received during April and May. The course was in reasonable condition and the greens, although a little “bobbly” in some areas, were rolling fast enough to catch the unwary. It was a pity however that we had such a low turnout of players and those that didn’t make this tournament missed a good day in spite of the breezy north-easter that blew throughout the day.
Alex Pillay (pictured) and Ashwin Krishen managed to play steady golf to shoot one over par gross 73 respectively with Alex being awarded first place in the A Division on a count-out basis with Ashwin taking second place. Other trailing scores in the A Division were Sean Fenger with 74, Guy O’Connor with 75 and Andy Forde and Rajen Sewgolum both on 76. The Best Nett prize in the A Division went to Dave Fisher with a score of gross 81 less 8 handicap = 73 nett. Runner-up was Stephen Hughes with gross 79 less 5 handicap = 74 nett.
In the B Division, Kevin Ganesan returned a score of 37 individual stableford points to take first place with Gary Price being awarded second place with 35 points, counting-out Leigh Branders, also with 35 points, in the process.
There were surprisingly only seven players in the C Division resulting in only one place being awarded and that went to Sam Pillay who returned the best score of 32 individual stableford points.
Congratulations to all. Many thanks to our sponsor, the Golfers Club for their continued support. Our next monthly tournament is scheduled to be played at Umdoni on Tuesday 15th July 2025. Looking forward to seeiing a full turnout for this game.
